Synopsis

A 12 piece Classic Soul Band who have been together since 1990 was formed in 1990 as the resident band for the ‘Hollywood Club’, Newport. Within months of the Commitments film release similarities and comparisons were made, as both acts were inundated with offers of live engagements because of their specialising in R&B/Soul Music. On several occasions the two acts met, where Big Mac’s would open for The Commitments. Soon to follow were the offers of live work not only in the UK but internationally, and Big Mac’s toured Europe, performing to audiences in Austria, Egypt, Germany, Tenerife and Dublin. Also, venues diverse as London’s The Cafe Royal and Marquee Club, Boomtown Festival, Upton Blues, Falmouth Tall Ships & Newquay Festival. Such far-reaching appeal is witness to the band’s popularity, adaptability and versatility. TV and radio performances, touring and appearing with Edwin Starr, Van Morrison, Jimmy James & the Vagabonds, Billy Ocean, Jools Holland, The Real Thing, Earth Wind & Fire, Sister Sledge, Gabrielle (to name a few!) has served to polish the bands’ repertoire without every diminishing its energy and enthusiasm! Line Up: Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, 3 Female Singers, 1 male singer, Keyboards, Bass, Drums, Guitar
