Cultural celebration Party [Reaching Communities 2026]

As part of Derby Theatre’s 50th Celebration year we are excited to announce an evening of variety entertainment, fashion, sip and paint and a DJ party enlivening Derby Theatre spaces with a variety of vibrant and creative cultural activities! Maybe you have never been to Derby Theatre before but have attended one of our events in the community? Maybe you want to come and make some new friends? Or maybe just want to come and enjoy what is on offer! Whatever you reason we cannot wait to see you there! Bringing together a flavour of just some the wonderful creative and cultural richness our city represents we are working with our DT Communities steering groups to plan an event filled with joy and entertainment to celebrate some of the fantastic creatives and cultures that have been part of our story so far and meet new talented artists to carry on the chapter and we would be delighted to see you there! The Day: Sip and Paint – Sit and relax in Derby Theatre’s café and be led by local DJ and artist extraordinaire for a fun painting session – with a blank canvas, free flow to express your creativity or follow our professional artist for inspiration The afternoon Local makers market upstairs – showcase and the opportunity to buy some local produce. Open Mic – Sit in the bar upstairs and relax with 4 different artists presenting a mixture of small scale performances from singing to poetry, live music to Dj beats The evening Main stage – Get ready for an evening of variety show talent meets fashion week! Our local community will be programming a bespoke collections of performances and cultural fashion to keep you engaged, motivated and in the party mood to turn your Sunday evening into a live show that has a little bit of everything… we hope!
