The SJT Adult dance class is the place for you.
1.5 hours a week for you to move, learn, laugh, have fun and dance to awesome music.
This class is best for those who have some experience of dance and want to get back to weekly sessions! Expect lots of lovely floorwork, technique phrases and some guided improvisation.

About Lisa (Biog)
Lisa is the Assistant Producer at the Stephen Joseph Theatre where she is responsible for supporting all logistics around produced and programmed works. Lisa joined the theatre with a background in dance and has worked extensively in dance education and community dance throughout the Yorkshire Coast. Career highlights include working as Programme Leader for the BA Dance course at Hull College to developing her practice as an early years movement practitioner. She currently leads the SJT’s Move Maker dance sessions for under 5’s and their adults and loves to witness how dance can reinforce bonds and develop communication.
Lisa has a special interest in advocating for and working with young dancers and worked for One Dance UK on the Dance Ambassador programme and U. Dance First initiative, as Dance in Education Manager. When not at the SJT, Lisa also teaches for Northern School of Contemporary Dance as part of their NSCD+ programme, which is designed to broaden access to high-quality dance and arts education for children and young people.
Lisa is passionate about teaching dance, she loves to watch people grow in self-confidence and belief, to find joy in the transformative power of movement.
She is proud to come from a town which is home to such brilliant, creative individuals and can not wait to work with the new dancers of the SJT’s Adults dance group.
