Formed by the merger of two separate societies in 1946, it was officially renamed 'Nomads' in 1948. Since then, the society has grown and thrived, owning and performing at the Kings Theatre in Newmarket. As a registered charity since 2007, Nomads is dedicated to educating the public in the dramatic, musical, and operatic arts while fostering a love and appreciation for these art forms. The society's calendar is packed with around 6 shows per year, including musicals, pantomimes, plays, and concerts. Their youth section, Young Nomads, actively participates in various productions alongside the adult members. Nomads also hosts Open Mic Nights, Kings Kiddies for toddlers, and Kings Kids for older children. With a dedicated group of about 120 members and a commitment to offering a variety of roles, from performing on stage to working behind the scenes, Nomads continues to create a vibrant and engaging theatre experience for the community and visitors alike.Read more
